Materials we work with

Indian sandstone

Natural, warm and characterful, with a riven surface and a colour range from buff to grey. A firm favourite and great value.

Porcelain

Ultra-hard-wearing, low-maintenance and stain-resistant, with a crisp, contemporary look and near-zero fading. Ideal for a modern garden.

Granite

Dense, durable and elegant, for a premium finish that ages beautifully.

Designed around your garden

A good patio is about more than the slabs. We think about where the sun falls, how you move between the house and the garden, the sizes and laying pattern and how the patio ties into paths, steps, lawn and planting. The result is a space that feels considered, not just paved.

Laid to last

Every patio we lay is set on a full mortar bed, not spot-bedded, with the correct falls so water runs away from the house. Joints are pointed neatly and the finish is checked over before we call it done. It's the details underneath that decide how long a patio stays flat and sound.

FAQs

Patios & Paving: your questions answered

How much does an Indian sandstone patio cost per m²?

As a guide, around £100 to £150 per m² installed, including groundwork, laying and pointing. Porcelain and granite sit a little higher. We confirm an exact price after a site visit.

Which is better, sandstone, porcelain or granite?

Sandstone is natural, warm and great value. Porcelain is the hardest-wearing and lowest-maintenance, with a modern look. Granite is dense and premium. We'll help you choose based on your garden, your style and your budget.

How long does it take to lay a patio?

Most patios take a few days to around a week, depending on size, access and groundwork. We give you a clear timescale with your quote.

Can you lay a patio over an existing concrete base?

Sometimes, if the concrete is sound, level and drains correctly. Often it's better to take it up and lay a proper base. We'll tell you honestly which is right for your patio.

Do patios need sealing?

It's optional. Sealing porcelain isn't necessary, while sealing sandstone can help resist stains and keep the colour rich. We can seal it for you if you'd like.
